What is spacetours?
The spacetours project is a sound universe created by Søren Bie since the mid-80s. It is a personal playground in a virtual digital sci-fi universe consisting of electronic music compositions, sound effects and field recordings. Spacetours have no relation to real life. I create sound collages and compositions for the interior planetarium in the styles of electronic house & techno. When the tempo is slowed down, it’s chillout, ambient and sound art.
The instruments used are hardware Roland synthesizers and software-based synths in the DAW (digital audio workstation) system Reason. All creations have always been underground and independent works, released on their own record label. It has always been “just” a hobby. So I produced only in my spare time, once in a while mainly for my own pleasure.
Relaxing meditative drone soundscapes
My sound art “space tours” are specifically designed for meditation and relaxation. Some frequencies are so deep that vibrations from them put one into a meditative state. These “space tours” can last up to half an hour or more and are specially designed for higher quality headphones. During several sound tests on good friends and family, the result was that they simply fell asleep.
Meditative music can be very relaxing for many individuals. This is especially beneficial for those who live in a busy urban area where the sound of traffic, trains and sirens constantly come through the walls.
